Aesthetic corrections and PANIC

June 1, 2026

Documenting the quirks of using online solutions and its implications.

this was the end of me.

I won't lie, I got lazy. I kept getting an interesting react hydration error whose effect seemed negligible, making me think the fix would be easy... surely. Ah, but that is almost never the case with these types of bugs.

Because of this preconception, I allowed myself to copy paste a solution for taking away scrollbars (for aesthetic purposes). But having copy pasted the solution resulted in my website looking like ABSOLUTE DOOKIE. I ended up committing the change because the dookieness of the new aesthetic wouldn't have shown itself unless I re-ran my npm run dev- thingo (I am not knowledgeable enough to use technical terms, I was gonna say "re-rendered" but i'm not sure if thats the right term).

And so the dookie slips past me and unto my website. Just like how it was when I didn't consider that people actually use light mode...

I told someone about my website, so we looked at it on their device, and it was in light mode... it looked so bad. 😭

And looking at it on you're phone didn't look too good either 🥲, so I finally made some changes that I think make me proud.
