First off, the reason I really haven't been doing any coding or programming is because i'm studying for a Cert IV in IT at at TafeNSW. And oh my goodness, I HOPE that this helps me get a job BUT if I were an employer and I saw what I was doing... I would be so confident that a person with this certificate knows what they're doing.
Erm I probably shouldn't say that in my website but.
Anyways, unto why I thought to write this in the first place. I regularly shower with media playing in the background. Wether its a podcast, or music, I almost always have something on. I know that it's lowkey super brain-rotted to do that and that its probably not healthy to always be consuming some sort of media. So this morning, I stopped.
And that led me to think about my career development as someone who studied software. And despite bringing on a lingering feeling of hopelessness, It made me aware that the project that was meant to make me feel proud of my studies was my thesis project. But my thesis project (despite passing with average marks), was something that was a complete failure to me, and something I wasn't proud of. I covered up how disappointed I was because... its uni and I believed that old phrase "P's get degrees" (meaning all you need to do is pass to get a degree), but apparently that's not the case with software engineering. You can't just pass your units and expect to gain an internship in this environment. And that's why I've been looking for an internship for 3 years without success.
I just lacked motivation while developing my thesis project, leading to something that wasn't honest about its challenges and subpar in terms of documentation, and code.
That has led me to believe that I should explore this project once again and really prove to myself that I gave it a good go. And I still want some result that is user friendly enough to be proud of.
Anywho, I should be in class right now so ima stop.
